Back in Fort Worth! If you remember from a previous blog a bunch of us went to Cowtown for a wedding. Lynn, Wendy, Cindy and I were looking for a place for lunch before the big event and Lynn Googled “restaurants near me” and did she ever find a great one! I want to pause here to encourage you to do what she did…even in your own hometown…Google the same thing or “what’s for dinner” or “where should I eat” and you might be surprised at what comes up, perhaps you will discover your new favorite eatery…branch out! Back to Fort Worth, M&O Station Grill, located in the heart of The Foundry District, is described by it’s employees as a burger joint and I would agree it gives off that vibe. I would not be surprised if we see it one day on an episode of Diner’s, Drive-ins, and Dives. Here’s the description of the area:
“Five acres of mid-century industrial buildings have been transformed into canvases of commerce, all anchored by Inspiration Alley, one of the most highly-regarded outdoor art installations in the state. It’s an exhibition of inspiration, where fine art intersects with everyday life, and culture is uncovered in the most unexpected places. This is a destination for elevated tastes and adventurous spirits where you can dine, drink, create, and collaborate. Alleys have become artful expressions. Exhibitors span the expanse of interests, including distillers, merchants, restaurateurs, and innovative executives.”

As you can see from the inside, there is an industrial feel to the place. M&O, we were told, stands for Marty and Opie, a couple who wanted to help along the reinvention of the Foundry District by moving their restaurant 7 blocks to its current location.
M&O is known for it’s chef crafted burgers, but they have lots of other delicious food items from which to choose!
Do you remember our meal at Snooze? Well, it happened again…Lynn, Wendy & Cindy each got the M&O Original while I marched to the beat of my own drum and ordered…
I LOVE a BLT and this one was on steroids! BLT, avocado, pickles and swiss cheese. I wasn’t too sure how I would like it but it was SO GOOD!!! The burgers were top notch too…living up to the burger joint image!
As we were leaving Wendy noticed this…
In February, 2018, Brennen Bechtol, a local Dallas artist, painted 28 different mantras around The Foundry District. You can Google the list, but this was the one on the outside of M&O Station Grill, “All it takes is all you’ve got”, a mindset of using your full potential to achieve a goal. I like that. Scripture says this, “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men”, Colossians 3:23. I like that too…words to live by.
Come back next week…I’m not sure where we’ll end up :)
